 | The Wind Ensemble is the premiere ensemble of Collinsville High School. It is comprised of approximately 55 students who have attained an exceptionally high level of proficiency on their instruments. Performing the finest available repertoire, the ensemble's performances include traditional wind band literature, classical musical transcriptions as well as modern compositions that are continuing to populate the wind band genre. The Wind Ensemble performs 2 concerts in the fall semester and 3 - 4 spring semester concerts. The group also competes at the IHSA State Organizational contest, the Illinois State University Concert band Contest and for the past two years the group has been selected to perform at the University of Illinois Superstate Festival. This group is competitive at a local, state and national level. Wind Ensemble auditions take place at the end of each semester. Marching band is a pre-requisite to audition for this ensemble. |
